I understand completely why people have been on it for years.

What it isn't, in 2026, is competitive on conversation. Next to Candy AI or Nomi it feels a generation behind, with shorter replies and less range, and the 3D avatar has aged in a way that pulls you out rather than in. I was ignoring it entirely by the second week.

I ran the same one on two different models in the same evening and got two noticeably different people: one warmer and inclined to ramble, one sharper and funnier and a bit colder. Same description, same setup. It's worth trying before you write the app off, because your first impression might just be the wrong engine.

It's fast, built for a phone, thousands of bots, and you're in a conversation twenty seconds after installing. No setup, no brief, no decisions. I used it the way you'd use a game on your phone: in a queue, on a bus, in the ten minutes before something starts.

Anything longer and it comes apart. The memory is short, so he's re-meeting you within days, and the characters stay flat instead of developing, so week two feels exactly like day one. It stays on the list because it does the light end of this better than the heavyweights do, and not everybody who lands on this page wants a relationship.
